From Dream to Powwow: The Birth of NativeAmericans.com

Hold onto your dreamcatchers, folks, because you’re about to hear the story of how NativeAmericans.com went from a whisper in the wind to a full-fledged cultural powwow online!

Back in 2020, a simple question sparked a fire: why didn’t we, the First Nations people of this land, have a one-stop shop for our own culture? News, events, stories, art, it was all scattered under the vast sky. Unacceptable!

And so, the dream began. A band of warriors, fueled by pride and determination, assembled. There was Mackenzie, the fierce wordsmith; Jess, the tech wiz; Beverly, the wisdom keeper; Lisa, the connector; Joel, the visual storyteller; Sthephany, the bridge builder; Samantha, the community champion; Mavid Construction, the foundation layer; and Fire Pixel, the flame igniter. Eagle Auto even gave us a ride when our digital wheels got stuck!

Together, we started from scratch, weaving code into stories, pixels into prayers, and dreams into reality. It wasn’t easy, but with each late night and passionate debate, NativeAmericans.com emerged.

This is more than just a website, it’s a movement. A celebration of our heritage, a platform for our voices, and a bridge for understanding. We’re still building, adding new feathers to our digital headdress, but the vision remains clear: to create a one-stop shop for our people, and for anyone who wants to explore the vibrant tapestry of our cultures.

So join the dance, friends! Whether you’re a descendant of the original code writers or a curious newcomer, here you’ll find stories to ignite your spirit, voices to challenge your perceptions, and a community to welcome you with open arms. Welcome to NativeAmericans.com, where culture thrives and the beat of our drums echoes through the digital plains!

P.S. A big shout out to Mackenzie, Jess, Beverly, Lisa, Joel, Sthephany, Samantha, Mavid Construction, Fire Pixel, Eagle Auto, and everyone who helped make this dream a reality! You know who you are, and we wouldn’t be here without you!
