Leslie Marmon Silko
Leslie Marmon Silko is a Laguna Pueblo Indian and American writer. Silko is considered one of the key figures in the Native American Renaissance for her poems, novels, and essays. Some of her published work includes "Laguna Women: Poems," "Ceremony," and "Gardens in the Dunes." Given how influential her writing is, Silko has been awarded the Native Writers' Circle of the Americas Lifetime Achievement Award and the Robert Kirsch Award.
