Milwaukee Bucks Highlight Indigenous Pride with Special Heritage Game

The Milwaukee Bucks will honor the nation’s Native American and Indigenous people with a dedicated game on Sunday, November 9th. As the Bucks battle the Houston Rockets, Wisconsin’s professional basketball team will also showcase Native American culture and heritage.

Throughout the years, more and more NBA teams have dedicated specific nights to honor Native American and Indigenous people. Such teams include the Portland Trail Blazers, Phoenix Suns, and the Oklahoma City Thunder.

For instance, members of the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation and Yakama Nation performed a traditional dance at halftime of a Portland Trail Blazers game while dressed in their regalia.
